The Commute

i like the inside of the trams, they feel a lot cleaner and better designed than anything ive found in England. Probably not difficult though...

Waiting for the tram

I have a terrible fear of being found taking pictures of people on the street. Its really annoying because id love to shoot more of this. we shall see...

Can you guess what it is yet?

I love the idea of the abstract photograph, something that is both so linked to an object but so far distant from recognition.

House on the hill

A house on the train tracks. must be wonderful at night.

Sunset over the bay

I think that the only good thing that might be said about the light at this time of year here is that it allows plenty of time to get sunset style pictures. even if you dont want them. you have no choice.

Housewarming Bears

We had a housewarming celebration and i realised after i woke up the following day that i didnt take a single picture. Therefore i set about various remains of the event with a macro lens. This is from the top of a beautiful cake that almolst didnt survive the night.

Aarre

Illuminated advertising sign for a magazine. For some reason there was something about the expression or pose (i cant quite place it)that seems to link with the title that makes me think of pirates. The fact the title was later translated as "treasure" made this even funnier... Aarre Jim Lad...

Anti Signage campaign of nature

I worked out recently why i like Helsinki under snow so much, its a wonderful unification of hiding any kind of logo or advertising. Consumerism hidden under a white blanket.

Ride the rail!

While in the shopping center, please refrain from riding on the rails of the escalator, even though we make it look like a lot of fun and just like the rodeo.

Brooklyn being European?

Brooklyn Local 1

Proof that Finland isnt completely out of the ale game, this was a truely good drink, but there was something in the name that i found funny when it was stated that it was brewed with German malts and hops with first-pressing Demerara cane sugar from Mauritius and a Belgian yeast strain combined with Brooklyn water...
a new definition of local

Window part 3

Window 3

a continuation of the previous window framing series, ive really been caught by the "natural" framing that architecture allows to the landscape around the houses.
